Our limited edition Blackstrap Bourbon Rub sold out so fast we just had to come up with something that was equally as good. Though it cannot be replaced due to the unique bourbon flavor, this rub could be thought of as offspring of the glorious Blackstrap Bourbon. Blackstrap Hickory Rub utilizes the same amazing granulated molasses but gets it’s smoky flavor from the hickory salt. This seasoning incorporates all of Blackstrap Bourbon’s traits; some smokiness, some heat, and then a hint of citrus. However, Blackstrap Hickory is a new generation and the smoky hickory flavor is one to be embraced for it’s own unique qualities. Like generations of family each one has it’s own traits that make it unique from one another but yet at the same time are similar due to the heritage and resemblance.
This seasoning is fabulous on chicken but we have found that it is great on so many different meats! We recommend about 1 tablespoon of dry rub per pound of chicken or pork.
