Farmhand Chili Powder is named for it’s dependability and versatility. This blend has some nice heat, as one would expect from a Chili blend, but not so much heat that you cannot use it in generous amounts. The real beauty of Farmhand is in it’s flavor, not it’s spiciness. I personally love food that is spicy but there is a definite line between pain and flavor! This blend is spice with purpose.
Another perk of a blend that is not crazy hot is that you can always make it hotter! I highly recommend adding some of our Nacho Average Mexican Seasoning to up the spice and flavor if you prefer life on the spicy side. Or if you are one of the millions that struggle with pleasing multiple palates under one roof, a finishing salt is helpful for letting those who want to kick it up a notch do so on their own plate! I recommend Salt of the Border for a medium heat finishing salt and Fire Salt for a hot one!
This blend is salt free so you don’t have to be worried about making it too salty!
If using Farmhand to make taco meat I recommend between 1 and 2 tablespoons per pound. Or you can always go half and half with Nacho Average Mexican Seasoning! If the meat turns out too spicy I add a little tomato paste or sauce and some chicken broth to tone it down. I suppose you can just load up on the sour cream as well!
Hand blended from Ancho Chile Powder, New Mexico Chile Powder, Onion, Chipotle chile powder, Cumin, Garlic, Mexican oregano, and Allspice.
