Once upon a time we owned a café that specialized in Paleo offerings. Well, I was just humming right along in my second full year when covid came around and closed the dining room. I am tenacious to a fault and instead of closing took it as an opportunity to expand my takeout. With my take home family meals, I always had vegetarian, Paleo, Keto, and Gluten Free options. This blend is the seasoning for our Paleo BBQ Sauce! It is smoky, salty, and zesty. But the best part is there is NO SUGAR.  High Peaks BBQ is versatile enough to season veggies, burgers, chicken, or steak and even makes a great finishing flavor. My favorite non sauce way to use this is to season my caulifauxtato salad! Yes, you read that right! I’m always up to some kind of low carb craziness.

Hand blended from farmhand chili powder, applewood smoked sea salt, aleppo pepper, smoked sweet paprika, garlic, black pepper, yellow mustard, and Mexican allspice.

Paleo BBQ sauce Recipe (keto friendly!)

12oz tomato paste

2/3 cup pureed fire roasted tomatoes

4 drops of liquid stevia

2/3 cup good aged balsamic vinegar (not regular, make sure it’s 12-14 year aged, it will have a very different flavor and be slightly sweet, naturally. You can get this at Walmart so don’t worry about a fancy store but if you have a local olive oil company please support them!)

1 cup water

2 TBSP Coconut Aminos (can substitute soy sauce if you’re not Paleo)

4 TBSP High Peaks BBQ Seasoning

Mix everything together and keep refrigerated in an airtight container. I like to use a canning jar.

Should be good for a few months, if it lasts that long!
